Dear Colleagues,
It is our great pleasure to invite you to participate to the Second International Simposium of Neurosonology “Transcraneal Doppler and Cerebrovascular desease” which will take place in Monterrey, México, on april 21 - 22, 2006.

The meeting will be organized by the Department of Neurology of the Hospital San José Tec de Monterrey, with Academic support by The School of Medicine of the Tecnologico de Monterrey, one of the most important Universities in Latinamerica and supported by the Santos y de la Garza Evia Foundation.
As in the previous National Simposium in may 2005, the scientific program will cover the State of the Art in Neurosonology tracking further evolutions of the technique and emphasizing the strong impact of cerebrovascular ultrasound in clinical practice. Specific sessions will be devoted to emerging problems such as the role of cerebrovascular ultrasound in stroke units and in other critical areas. In addition, topics as Brain Death and the utility of TCD in non-vascular brain diseases will be included.
A high quality update will also be dedicated to classical topics such as carotid plaque characterization, embolus detection and monitoring, ultrasound contrast imaging and functional assessment of cerebral hemodynamics.
In addition to an exciting scientific program, please do not forget to consider the setting of the event: the city of Monterrey, surrounded by the mountains of Sierra Madre, the cultural environment preparing the World forum of cultures in 2007 and the wonderful variety of the Mexican cuisine.

On behalf of the organizing committee and of the Department of Neurology of the Hospital San Jose Tec de Monterrey, we are looking forward to welcome you all to the Second International Simposium of Neurosonology “Transcraneal Doppler and Cerebrovascular Disease” April 21 - 22, 2006.
